The birth of your baby is a key event in your life - one you'll remember forever. As a birth doula, I accompany women and their partners in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during your labor, birth, and immediate post-partum period.
My services include:
At least two prenatal meetings
Personalized childbirth education
Birth plan consultation
Video and book lending library
24-hour availability, with back-up support available
Continuous support during your labor
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) units available
Photographs documenting your child's birth, if you wish
Birth notes
One postpartum meeting
My Qualifications
Graduate of the Seattle Midwifery School's Labor Support Course (3/00) and Childbirth Educator Training (3/01)
Advanced Doula Training (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008)
CAPPA Lactation Educator Training (9/02)
Professional certifications through:
Pacific Association of Labor Support (PALS), 12/2000
Childbirth Education Association of Seattle (CEAS), 4/2001
International Childbirth Education Association, (ICEA), 5/2005
Up-to-date on the latest labor coping strategies: TENS, acupressure, touch therapy, & optimal fetal positioning.
